Glossary / Naming
The Attaky vocabulary — module, Frame, Complete Build, series — and how builds are named.
A short reference for the words used across these docs and how a build's name is put together.
Vocabulary
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Module | A small functional board. There are four kinds: Core, Expand, Control, and Power. |
| Core | The host module that runs the firmware, drives the screen, and reads the controls. |
| Expand | The module that gives a build its capability — a radio, a media kit, a tuner. |
| Control | An input module, such as a keyboard or a gamepad. Optional. |
| Power | The battery module that runs the build off USB. |
| Frame | The structure that holds a set of modules together as one device and gives it its shape. |
| Connector | The standard links between modules — the back board-to-board connector, the flat-flex (FPC) taps, and the 7-pin power connector. |
| Complete Build | A fully assembled device — modules, Frame, and connectors, ready to use. This is what you buy. |
| Series | A top-level grouping of Complete Builds by what they're for. There are five: Mesh, Retro, Radio, Agent, and Cyber. |
| Form factor | The shape a build takes — Pocket, Deck, Station, Arcade, or Flip. |
| Colorway | A colour recipe across four channels (Body, Logo, Key Base, Key Lettering). |
| Configurator | The tool for designing your own build and personalizing its colours. |
How builds are named
A Complete Build's full name is <Series> <Form factor> [Variant] <Version> (Variant is optional) — for example
Mesh Deck Junior 1.0, Retro Pocket 1.0, or Agent Station 1.0. The same full name is used
everywhere: the shop, the Configurator, and these docs. There are no abbreviations or
nicknames.
- A Series is a grouping, not a device. You pick a Series first (what the build is for), then a specific Complete Build within it.
- A Complete Build is the actual device you order — one build, one name, one datasheet.
