Cyber Series
Keyboard-first portable control — tactile input, media I/O, and a flexible foundation for custom firmware.
The Cyber Series is built for people who want to operate a handheld with real controls. Every Cyber Complete Build combines a color touchscreen with a 48-key QWERTY keyboard, media I/O, a microSD card slot, and battery power. The result is a compact platform for typing, shortcuts, navigation, creative control, and firmware experiments.
The recipe
Every Cyber build starts with these modules:
- Core: ESP32 1.0 — the host, with the color touchscreen and Wi-Fi / Bluetooth
- Expand: Media I/O 1.0 — a microSD card slot, a microphone, and a speaker
- Control: Keyboard (Bottom) 1.0 — a 48-key QWERTY keyboard for text and commands
- Power: Standard Cell 1.0 — the rechargeable battery
Cyber Deck Plus adds Control: Gamepad (Bottom) 1.0 for directional and gamepad-style input alongside the keyboard.
Firmware
The Cyber Series is defined by its hardware, not by one pre-loaded app. Choose firmware for the job you want it to do, or build your own around the touchscreen, keyboard, media I/O, and storage.
Create your own firmware
Describe what you want the device to do in plain language, then use the AI Build Assistant to identify the modules your idea needs, recommend a compatible module combination, create the firmware and screen interface, prepare a flashable build, and test it on the device. It can also help adapt existing open-source firmware when the Cyber hardware provides the required features and the upstream license allows the adaptation.
The builds
Cyber Deck 1.0
The keyboard-first foundation — touchscreen, full QWERTY input, media I/O, and microSD support.
Cyber Deck Plus 1.0
Adds a full gamepad to the keyboard-first foundation for more ways to navigate, play, and control.
Compare the builds
Both builds share the same Core, Media I/O, keyboard, and battery. Cyber Deck Plus adds the Gamepad module.
| Build | Keyboard | Gamepad | Dimensions (mm) | Weight | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cyber Deck 1.0 | 48-key QWERTY | — | 68 × 97 × 20.5 | 141.2 g | Typing, shortcuts, terminal-style tools, and custom firmware |
| Cyber Deck Plus 1.0 | 48-key QWERTY | Full gamepad | 68 × 122 × 20.5 | 165.1 g | Hybrid keyboard and gamepad projects |
